Agicap is a fast-growing fintech scaling its cash-flow management platform across multiple European markets. Email sits at the core of its marketing, sales, and product communication — around 5M sends a month through HubSpot and SendGrid.
As the company expanded country by country, its email infrastructure hadn't kept pace.
Two problems hit at once.
First, deliverability was breaking down at Microsoft, where a large share of Agicap's B2B database lives. A compromised domain reputation was pushing corporate emails straight to spam.
Second, Agicap had just expanded into several countries, each needing its own strategy — with real legal constraints around segmentation and unsubscribes — yet nearly all traffic still ran through a single primary .com domain.
Our audit traced the collapse to two root causes: a lack of segmentation (marketing, sales, and transactional all shared one reputation, so any weakness dragged everything down) and a high bounce rate from invalid addresses — users signing up with fake emails just to access gated resources. Because everything funneled through one domain, there was no way to monitor metrics by country. That was the first thing we fixed.
What we did
How MailSoar has helped Agicap escape Microsoft's spam folder
In 5 steps
-
Audit & infrastructure mapping.
Mapped exactly what was sent, to whom, and from which entity — then built country-level monitoring where none existed.
-
Country subdomains + IP separation.
A dedicated subdomain per country, with marketing and transactional split across different ESPs and IPs (dedicated for high volume, shared for low). No market could contaminate another.
-
List cleaning, sunsetting & authentication.
Verified every country list, segmented by last engagement to ramp safely, secured Microsoft mitigation, and set up DMARC + BIMI for security and inbox visibility.
-
Re-engagement of the backlog.
Reached wider audiences at higher open rates and ran a re-engagement sequence — recapturing ~18% of inactive subscribers.
-
Ongoing advisory.
Regular check-ups, industry updates, and support on specific issues as they arise.
MailSoar helped us stop the bleeding quickly, then restructure our email marketing, sales, and product approach. Problem solved!
The results
Inbox placement, open rates, and reputation all recovered — with a re-engagement bonus of audience Agicap already owned but could no longer reach.
Frequently asked
Why were Agicap's emails going to spam at Microsoft?
A compromised domain reputation, combined with unsegmented sending and a high bounce rate from invalid signup emails, pushed Agicap's B2B mail into spam at Microsoft. Fixing it required rebuilding reputation, separating sending streams, and cleaning the lists.
